• We will let your dog be a dog (even if he drives us a little crazy!)

Auston – Dog Wrangler/Owner

Auston started her first business while in the fourth grade! She provided a dog walking service to her neighbors for only $1.00. Her love of animals drew her to the Humane Society of Kent County where she has been a volunteer since 2000. Not only did she become an active volunteer, but she began to learn more about the care, grooming and training of the dogs. In December of 2005 she became the owner of her very own place to care for dogs - The Paw Place.

Auston is the proud Mom to Molly, a mixed breed and Tugboat a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Molly and Tug are Delta Certified therapy dogs and members of West Michigan Therapy dogs.

Marian – Dog groomer

Old, young, happy, grumpy big or small Marian grooms them all! With a big heart and a good sense of humor Marian grooms a diverse group of dogs here at The Paw Place. From the tiniest 2lb. teacup poodle to the largest Newfoundland, no two days are alike.

Marian got into dog grooming when her senior dog Shadow turned 17. Grooming shops did not want to groom Shadow because of his age. This inspired Marian to attend a dog grooming school so that she could care for Shadow in his final years. Shadow has been gone for sometime now and his memory lives on in the eyes of every senior dog Marian grooms.

Marian is the proud Mom to Xulu, a Shih Tzu/Maltese. Xulu can be found hanging out on the grooming room floor or cuddling with Auston’s dog Tug on any given day. Xulu is a certified therapy dog who loves everyone, especially kids and is currently volunteering in the Ruff Readers program at the Grandville library.
